Stephanie, I love this! I’m going to take a guess and say that you are Scarlett, and I love how it’s a personal narrative using a different name: it shown to future students, they may be able to take guesses on if the story is about you (if they know of your cat, which I’m guessing they will).
I love everything about your love for Bruce. I adopted a kitten when I got my first apartment when I was 20. She was my ride or die for 18 years. I totally get your relationship. every cat we have adopted since she passed away has to measure up to her big pawprints.
